Grand Canyon University actively promotes critical thinking on educational issues among its students and faculty. Within the GCU College of Education, students and faculty collaborate to conduct research and publish findings that can benefit a multitude of disciplines and departments. Through achievements in research, GCU has promoted new developments in contemporary education while simultaneously expanding our horizons toward future research and educational development initiatives.
The Center for Innovation in Research on Teaching (CIRT) facilitates excellence in education research and teaching at GCU. A faculty-driven initiative, CIRT crosses teaching disciplines to foster an integrated community of educators. Learn more about the CIRT, visit cirt.gcu.edu.
Each year, CIRT facilitates the online publication of the Journal of Instructional Research (JIR). The JIR helps students in the College of Education enhance comprehension and application of best practices in postsecondary education. GCU understands that attention to ethical and responsible practices in research is integral to developing a high-quality initiative.
