Dr. Alicia Kozimor is the Faculty Chair of the College of Education at Grand Canyon University. With a strong foundation in education, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University, a Master of Education in Educational Administration, and an Ed.D. in Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in Adult Learning, both from Grand Canyon University.
Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, Alicia's commitment to education stems from her personal connection to her hometown. Born and raised in Glendale, she had the privilege of teaching at the very Title I elementary and middle school that she attended as a student. This unique experience fostered a deep understanding of the importance of providing quality education to students from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
Alicia's true passion lies in preparing future educators to become passionate, effective, and transformative agents in the field. Her expertise and dedication have led her to deliver notable presentations on various educational topics, including "Restoring Classroom Communities Through Restorative Practices," "Science and Literacy: A Winning Combination," and "Meeting Community Needs: Emergency Substitute Cohorts." Additionally, she has contributed to the field through her published works, which include titles such as Literacy in Content Area Instruction (2021), Barriers to Implementation of Problem-Based Learning in Online Undergraduate Instruction (2021), and Cooperative Learning to Increase Engagement (2022).
