Dulce Maria Ruelas is an activist for human rights to the Latinx populations and is dedicated to health promotion. She is committed to improving collaboration, partnerships and community capacity for maternal-child health. Her areas of interest are breastfeeding, early childhood education, higher learning, immigration and health disparities. When she is not attending community events, conducting research or volunteering her services, she is at baseball games and ballet Folklorico with her children.
Dr. Dulce Maria currently teaches in the Master of Public Health program for Grand Canyon University and is a Certified Health Education Specialist and breastfeeding counselor. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences emphasizing in Health Education, a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature, a Master of Public Health and a Doctor of Public Health.
