6 Phoenix Events to Check Out This Year!
You may already realize that there is plenty for students to do on Grand Canyon University’s main campus! If you’re looking to enjoy what the city has to offer, then check out some of these great Phoenix events:
Fiesta Bowl
Held at the University of Phoenix Stadium, the Playstation® Fiesta Bowl is a college football game that is part of the Bowl Championship Series. See two of the best in college football go to head to head on Dec. 30, 2017.
Barrett-Jackson Auto Show
Car enthusiasts from around the world have headed to the Barrett-Jackson collector car auctions for the past 46 years. Over this time, the auctions have transformed into world-class events that represent an automotive lifestyle. Check it out from Jan. 13 – 21, 2018.
Phoenix Open
If you’re a fan of golf or simply want to enjoy the thrill of a major competition, then check out the Waste Management Phoenix Open, a professional tournament on the PGA Tour held from Feb. 2 – 5, 2018.
MLB Spring Training
Major League Baseball (MLB) spring training precedes the regular season. Enjoy the sunshine as teams from across the country travel to destinations across Phoenix to get ready for regular season play. Games start at end of February or the beginning of March.
McDowell Mountain Music Festival
Established in 2004, the McDowell Mountain Music Festival is a 100% nonprofit event that has become a destination for music festivalgoers. The event takes place on March 2 – 4, 2018 and focuses on community, culture and charity, which fuels its dedication to integrating and supporting the community.
Phoenix Comicon
Celebrating fandom and pop culture, Phoenix Comicon is a convention and expo that features attractions such as top comic book writers and artists, pop culture actors, costuming and exhibitors. Experience the fun over Memorial Day weekend, from May 24 – 27, 2018.
