Lopes Up and Running: How to Get Involved on Campus

You have finally got the hang of college – kind of. There may be a little room for improvement in your new life as a college student, such as not coming back into your dorm too late at night, remembering to have your key fob on you or budgeting your dining dollars.

Adjusting to college life may take some time, but there is no need to worry! Reduce this stress by getting involved on campus. Play a Sport

Intramurals are a great way for students to get together and stay active. With sports ranging from bowling to flag football, GCU intramurals has a sport for everyone. If you are just not that into playing sports, intramurals still provide a great way to build community. You can cheer on your friends and meet other sporty Lopes!

Go on an Adventure

Looking to venture out away from the Phoenix area? The GCU Outdoor Recreation Program is perfect for those looking to add a bit of zing to their college experience. The program lets you participate in awesome excursions such as kayaking, rappelling, backpacking and paddle boarding. You are bound to meet some new expeditioners and gain some useful skills!

Hang Around at Thunderground

Thunderground is an awesome spot on campus spilling over with entertainment and amenities. Students are able to show off their bowling skills at the lanes, sing their hearts away at Karaoke Night, compete with their friends at a foosball match or just chill out and relax. There is so much to do at Thunderground!

This year, go out and give something new a try! Maybe you have never made a campfire before or maybe you have yet to sing in front of a small crowd. Grand Canyon University is teeming with ways to be engaged on campus. So, knock out that stress and get involved on campus!
