Weekly Devotional: Living Your Life as Acts of Worship
In our daily lives, it is easy to put our faith in the backseat as we navigate the world and all its decisions. The Bible calls us to live a lifestyle of worship. God invites us to go beyond songs and to turn every day into a chance to live out our love and dedication to him. So, what does the Bible say about this and how can we live our life as acts of worship?
In This Article:
A Lifestyle of Worship
A lifestyle of worship means that with each action, thought and intention we have, we can honor God through it. In our lives, we can reflect Jesus’ character by exemplifying his goodness and love. We can transform ourselves and those around us. In Romans 12:1, Paul challenges us to reflect and look deeper. He explains we can have a life holy and pleasing to God, and that it would be worshipping to him. It will require sacrifice and dedication, but we can lean on God for his forgiveness and strength.
Worships Through Our Work
One way to worship the Lord is through your daily work. We can shift our focus from getting things done and working tirelessly, to a perspective of serving God through our efforts. All glory goes to God for all we accomplish, because through him, we are able to work. Our good work, no matter what it may be, becomes an act of worship when we give it our best.
Our works should not be focused on gaining recognition and impressing others, but rather honoring God and giving him the glory in what we do. Even when work is challenging or tedious, viewing it as worship helps us persevere and find the purpose in our efforts. For when success comes, we worship by staying humble. Recognizing that all our abilities and achievements are gifts from God.
Worships in Our Everyday Actions
We can pursue a lifestyle of worship in our everyday actions. Not every gesture, action or thought has to be grand; it can be something small and simple and still have a positive impact. Worship can be found in the simplest forms. Being thankful, serving others, showing kindness and thoughtfulness are ways we can help others and focus on God. It’s in the small, often unseen decisions that our hearts grow closer to God and our love becomes more aligned with his will.
Worship doesn’t require perfection, but it does require intention.
