Weekly Devotional: No Sin Is Too Great for God

Arranged sticky notes reading "sorry"

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:28-31

Ever since Eve gave into temptation, sin has been inevitable in human nature. We all sin every single day. However, God is forgiving of all sins, big or small, because he loves us and wants to save us from all things evil and all of our sin.

He Looks at All Sin Equally

Whether it is lying, cheating, stealing, or anything else, God views all sin the same — as disobedience against his holiness. Sin breaks his heart and separates us from him. So God made a way for us to be restored to relationship with him. Through the death of his son Jesus, our sins have been atoned for. And through Jesus’ resurrection, we too can overcome spiritual death from sin. We need only confess our sin and turn from our ways through the power of the Holy Spirit.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” – Romans 3:23

He Is Always Forgiving

God will always forgive you. No matter what you do, if you ask for forgiveness, he will give it to you. All that God wants to do is to forgive you and love you. He wants to have a relationship with you. So talk to him about your problems and your sins and he will help you and guide you.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9

He Died for You

God loves us so much, that he was crucified on the cross and died for every single one of us to save us from our sins. He gave up his life to save ours. He died so we could join him in heaven one day. That is how much he loves us. We could not ask for any greater sacrifice, and we should be forever grateful and the least we can do is thank him and love him with our whole hearts, because he loves us.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

He Loves You Unconditionally and Will Chase After You

The Lord wants your love, because he loves you unconditionally and he wants that love in return. He will chase after you with open arms and is always there for you no matter what, we just have to be accepting of his love and know that he is always willing to forgive.

“Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy” – Proverbs 28:13
