Weekly Devotional: You Are Enough
“The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” – Jeremiah 31:3
Life can get pretty stressful at times, especially in college. We may not know where we are going or what we are doing with our lives. We do not know what our purpose is or if we have the potential to live out our dreams.
You Are Created in God’s Image
When God was creating the world, he already had you in mind. He created man in his own image, to be like him and to spread love, kindness and good in the world. He created the world, knowing you would be a part of it because he knows that you have so much to offer the world.
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” - Genesis 1:27
He Has Given You a Purpose
Before you were even born, God had a plan for your life. He knows how you will make an impact on the world and has a purpose for your life, even if you are unsure of what that is right now. Put your trust in him and his plan for you. You will find your purpose. Start with what makes you happiest and build off of it. How can you make an impact on others by doing what you love?
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” - Proverbs 19:21
You Will Do Great Things
The older you get, the more you feel like you have to figure out what you are doing with your life. You may have no idea what you want to do after you graduate college, or what you want to major in after you graduate high school. There are so many unknowns in life and we are unsure of where we are supposed to go but God will lead us, even in the dark, he will be our light.
“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” - John 14:12
Have Confidence in Who You Are
To figure out where you are going, you first need to know and have confidence in who you are. Have confidence in yourself and in your abilities. Know that you are capable of great things and show the world who you are.
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” - Philippians 4:13
God Loves You So Much That He Died For You
God loves you more than anything. He loves you unconditionally. God cares about you so much that he died for you. He wanted to be free of sin that he took it upon himself to forgive you of your sins. You are worth so much in God’s eyes that he would do anything for you.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
