Welcome to GCU’s Spiritual Life Blog
Thank you for taking the time to visit Grand Canyon University’s Spiritual Life Blog!
We hope that you’ll enjoy this site as we develop a variety of resources to help you grow in your relationship with God. As you know, there are many exciting things happening at GCU these days. We have record enrollment that doesn’t appear to be slowing any time soon, incredible facilities springing up everywhere and new course programs that are constantly being developed.
However, one of the great dynamics within the university that is evident in every little corner of campus is our spiritual passion! Our hope is that this blog will be a strategic contribution to your own personal spiritual development as well as a place where you can point your friends who need some encouragement or direction.
GCU’s Spiritual Journey
When I came to GCU a little more than four years ago, we were just beginning to get a glimpse of what was about to happen. There was a growing vision and expectation for the future, but it was mostly dreams and ideas that hadn’t been fleshed out yet.
In just a few short years the campus has gone thru an incredible transformation with no end in sight. There were a number of people already here who wondered what life could be like if God decided to bless us in an unusual spiritual way, too.
Little did we know that He would bring to GCU so many wonderful students and a variety of committed staff members who would serve His purposes in humble and quiet ways to contribute to a unique spiritual vibrancy on campus.
It reminds me of what Paul wrote to the Corinthians in the early years of the Christian church, “your eyes have not seen, your ears have not heard, neither has it entered into your hearts what God has prepared for them that love Him.”
So… hopefully we can make this trek together and find creative and compelling ways to experience the things that are near the heart of God. If we do, there is no doubt in my mind that we will find ourselves consistently amazed by how He exceeds our expectations! Again, thanks for checking out the Spiritual Life Blog… see you next week!!
