  1. Biblical Foundations - Graduates of Grand Canyon University's Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry program will demonstrate knowledge of the Christian Scriptures and an ability to interpret Scripture according to reasonable hermeneutical principles. Special attention is given to extracting truths from Scripture for application of biblical content to life and ministry.
    • Analyze the history, literature, and theology of the Old Testament.
    • Analyze the history, literature, and theology of the New Testament.
    • Analyze, interpret, and apply the Bible to life and ministry.
    • Articulate a biblical understanding of God as Creator and Redeemer.
    • Articulate the biblical concept of the Kingdom of God.
  2. Historical and Theological Foundations - Graduates of Grand Canyon University's Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry program will be able to exhibit a basic knowledge of biblical history, biblical literature, and Christian theology, and will be able apply these foundations in contemporary expressions of ministry.
    • Analyze historical Christian orthodoxy.
    • Apply Christian theology and historical insight to life and ministry.
    • Articulate theological method that is biblically faithful.
    • Articulate the nature and mission of the New Testament church in Scripture.
  3. Moral and Spiritual Formation - Graduates of Grand Canyon University's Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry program will demonstrate an understanding of moral and spiritual formation, giving special attention to the practice of spiritual disciplines in life and church leadership. Graduates will engage in a process of developing a Christ-like character through spiritual formation practices and relationships within the church and community.
    • Examine the biblical qualifications of ministry and leadership in relation to morality and character formation.
    • Identify the principles of Christian ethics as they apply to ministry.
    • Examine the foundations of communal and personal spiritual formation.
    • Examine the biblical foundations of discipleship and their application within life and ministry.
  4. Christian Ministry - Graduates of Grand Canyon University's Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry program will develop skills and methods to establish themselves as pastors or ministers of the gospel. Graduates will learn skills, including ministerial leadership, communication skills, teaching and preaching within culturally diverse environments, and apologetics, to further the mission of Christ. Graduates will also cultivate their personal pastoral/ministerial identity and develop a biblically based and application-focused theological vision.
    • Demonstrate skills essential to interpersonal communication, teaching, and preaching ministry.
    • Articulate the principles for contextualizing Christianity within culturally diverse situations.
    • Examine the importance of developing theological underpinnings of a ministry that are biblically informed, contextually effective, and evident in specific application.
    • Articulate a pastoral/ministerial identity which includes an examined sense of God's call on one's life and ministry.
    • Develop apologetic strategies to defend certain claims of Christianity.
    • Articulate a gospel-centered approach to conflict resolution.
