Social, Cultural, and Spiritual Foundations -
Graduates of Grand Canyon University’s Master of Science in Mental Health and Wellness with Emphasis in Christian Ministry program will be exposed to the social, cultural, and spiritual foundations related to the mental health and wellness fields.

• Analyze how culture impacts an individual’s ability to recover, sense of belonging, connectivity, and wellbeing.
• Identify resources and support systems in the community that promote mental health and wellness.
• Assess personal competency to work with people with different backgrounds, belief systems, and worldviews.

Leadership -
Graduates of Grand Canyon University’s Master of Science in Mental Health and Wellness with Emphasis in Christian Ministry program will be exposed to the aspects of leadership within the mental health and wellness fields.

• Analyze leadership abilities needed to manage the daily operations of a mental health and wellness facility.
• Assess the components of successful mental health and wellness programs.
• Describe strategies to help mental health and wellness professionals increase motivation and effectiveness.

Mental and Emotional Health First Aid -
Graduates of Grand Canyon University’s Master of Science in Mental Health and Wellness with Emphasis in Christian Ministry program will be exposed to the different types of mental and emotional first aid within the Mental Health and Wellness fields.

• Determine coping approaches for various mental health crisis situations.
• Describe best assessment practices and treatment modalities for mental health disorders.
• Analyze the relationship between mental, emotional, and physical health throughout human development.

Integrated Health -
Graduates of Grand Canyon University’s Master of Science in Mental Health and Wellness with Emphasis in Christian Ministry program will be exposed to the integrated health model within the mental health and wellness fields.

• Determine best practices in using the integrated health model.
• Analyze the integrated health system in the U.S.
• Analyze the latest research in integrated health.
• Explain the impact of well-being in human functioning and achieving life satisfaction.

CHRISTIAN MINISTRY -
Graduates of Grand Canyon University’s Master of Science in Mental Health and Wellness with Emphasis in Christian Ministry program will be exposed to the relationship between Christian Theology and psychological theories.

• Analyze the nature of God, mankind, sin, and the relationship between God and man.
• Assess the implications of various models for integration of psychological theories and Christian theology.
• Articulate a plan for self-care that is rooted in spiritual formation, accountability, and dependence on the Holy Spirit.
• Recommend a model of mental health and wellness that can be reconciled with and implemented in a Christian ministry setting.
