Weekly Devotional: Starting New Chapters in Life
Life is full of transitions and chapters. Whether it’s starting college, beginning a new job or internship, moving to a new city or starting a new role, there are lots of points in our lives where we will face new chapters. While new chapters can seem intimidating and overwhelming, they’re an opportunity to grow closer to God. God is present in every season, guiding us as we take each step forward. Let’s explore what the Bible says about starting new chapters and how we can lean on God in those moments.

Embracing Change with Faith
Starting a new chapter typically requires stepping into the unknown. It may require us to learn new skills, build new relationships or adjust to a new environment. As daunting as that may be, it is a great lesson for us to lean on God for strength. Despite us not fully knowing the plan and what the future may hold, we can trust that God has a greater plan for all of us. It can be tempting to try and control every aspect of the journey, but it is important that we trust in God’s plan rather than our own understanding. We can welcome change, life transitions and opening new chapters by embracing our faith and remaining steadfast.
Moving Forward with Courage
New chapters will also challenge us to step up and be courageous. We are often called to step out of our comfort zone and walk forward. We can walk through any chapter strong and courageous, trusting in God’s presence and goodness. Remember that God equipped you for this new chapter and will not abandon you. It’s normal to be a little scared or fearful of what may happen, but I encourage you to face it with courage. Know that courage doesn’t mean the absence of fear, instead, it means taking the next step despite fear, knowing that God is with you.
